Boogie Woogie Beach House is a boutique hotel inspired by design and music and includes on-site restaurant and live music venue Flow Bar.
This was a fun project to be involved with. The Boogie Woogie Beach House offers boutique accommodation in Old Bar and BHI was commissioned to add two more rooms and a deck to the back of the historic building. Each unique guest room at the Boogie Woogie Beach House is individually designed by the owners and everything in those rooms was custom made by BHI.
We are very lucky to have such skilled tradesmen in our team and this was a project in which they could showcase some of their skills. Our joiner constructed the queen beds, plywood kitchenettes and a vanity while our welder made the bunk beds, side tables, bedside tables, steel door for the ensuite and another vanity. We even made porthole windows which was something none of us had done before.
Using recycled materials is definitely a passion we have at BHI so we often have some nice materials stored in the shed to use on jobs like this one. I love the rusty corro balustrade and the recycled timber which they had from previous work goes beautifully with the black steel on the side table and vanity. The murals in the bathrooms are obviously the standout and are a resin tile that the owners had imported from Italy and the banana leaf wallpaper from America.
Working with an old building can always be challenging so we were really happy with the way this one came together.
